My heart goes out to parents, friends, loved ones, brothers, sisters- the list goes on and on and meanwhile our fears and anxieties grow, and hate and fear are trumpeted.
God is sovereign. His ways are not our ways. He sees what we do not see. He loves how we can never love. He understands and has wisdom that we will never have.
As Christians, we are called to love. Period. This command is uttered more than once by our good, good Father. It's who He is.
And we are loved. It's who we are.
And love sometimes looks like an action verb, not a feeling, nor an emotion. It's what we need to do.
